Cavan Builders is the construction manager for the major alteration and combination of two existing buildings at 86 and 88–90 North 6th Street, at Wythe Avenue in Williamsburg. The project joins the two properties into one mixed-use building, which will be home to a major retail tenant. The work includes structural and facade upgrades for an entirely new core, new MEPs systems and new apartment interiors with custom millwork.

Construction happened on a tight corner lot in one of Brooklyn’s busiest neighborhoods, so careful site logistics were essential. Cavan coordinated sidewalk sheds, scaffolding and perimeter protection along both North 6th Street and Wythe Avenue. We also protected the roofs of the neighboring buildings and kept them in use throughout. With this work, the original character of the buildings is kept while they’re brought up to current code and finished to the standard ESRT’s residents expect.
